What we collect
Shampoo Bar Guide has no accounts, sign-ups or forms. When you visit, we collect:
- Visit analytics: pages viewed, the site or AI assistant that referred you (for example Google, ChatGPT or Perplexity), campaign tags in the link you used, how far you scrolled, how long you stayed, and device type.
- Outbound clicks: when you click through to a brand's website, we record which product, which page you clicked from, and the referral source, so we know which pages are useful.
- Server logs: our hosting provider keeps standard request logs for security and reliability.
Storage on your device
Our analytics keeps a random visit identifier in your browser's local storage so it can tell a returning visit from a new one. It contains no name or email. You can clear it in your browser settings at any time.
What we don't do
- We don't sell personal information.
- We don't run advertising networks or retargeting pixels.
- Links to brands add standard campaign tags (such as
utm_source) so the brand can see the visit came from us. They don't include personal information.
Third parties
Our analytics runs on our own hosting. Brand websites you visit from our links have their own privacy policies.
